This easily readable and entertaining book has much to offer. Although, I had trouble keeping interest in the plot line it addressed relevant issues of today with magical powers and creatures. The world building was minimal but enough to make this story appealing.
Alexis or Lex is our FMC who is a witch and half succubus who preforms magic when her boss makes unwanted advances on her. Due to this indiscretion Lex must return to her coven to stand trial. Her return happens during the Samhain of the coven. Lex is 27 years old and for the last nine years has refused to partake in the ceremony to summon her fated mate. Her family settles her into a magical house that is determined to make her call her mate. Enters Lochran, an incubus who has been living off of human sexual encounters. The sexual tension is a slow burn because Lex has decided it should be.
The development of the secondary characters was well done within the confines of this book. The magical house being the most important character. The prose and banter are both equally good. The story lines are followed through and we look forward to more stories coming.
Although this was not a book for me I do recommend it to someone who is interested in reading a quick and easy book. I have given this book a 3⭐️ and 2🌶️ ratings.
