This cute, cozy and fun book starts a little slow but I promise it is worth reading to the end. It is a second chance, found family, fake dating, behind closed doors romance, third act break up, and miscommunication romance novel.

Falling Leaves is a small Virginia town known for their Halloween themed ambiance. Sabrina is the daughter in the Ellis’s and Daughter construction company.

Brandon Blake has been a lifelong nemesis and ex-boyfriend. Brandon broke Sabrina’s heart after high school graduation, shortly after his father’s death. Brandon left Falling Leaves for college and a high paced job. Sabrina stayed because she loved the town.

Brandon returned to town to help care for his mother who died of cancer and left him the Peculiar Pumpkin, a quaint inn. The Pumpkin was in dire need of renovation that Ellis and Daughter were hired to do. Her father decided to tell her, he was going to have surgery the day she found out they were doing the renovation and she would have to work closely with Brandon. Sabrina still nursing a bruised ego and reputation was not happy about it. The Peculiar Pumpkin is up for sale and some potential buyers have come to stay, an catch Sabrina and Brandon in a situation that is misinterpreted by the buyers. This, begins the fake dating and the fun.

This quick and easy read has great banter and character development. I gave it 3.75 ⭐️rating. I recommend this book to those who want a cozy read that entertains.
