Tis The Season For Secrets by Kate Callaghan

This sweet, fun and sometimes white knuckle book was very well written. The author takes us on this fun ride back to Yule from the interconnected book The Naughty or Nice Clause. The plot line was well thought out and beautifully written by the author. We are introduced to Juliet Frost the illegitimate daughter of a rich family, who struck out on her own and has little to do with her family. Juliet receives a decorated box from her late grandmother much to her surprise. Within the box are letters and a tiny bell with the Frost name engraved on it. Not knowing what the box means or what it’s for she hides it under her bed when her roommate convinces her to go to a party. While on her way to the party her boss asks her to retrieve a promised manuscript from the person giving the party. While leaving the party she bumps into a tall dark stranger, who she later meets in the hotel’s bar. His name is Will Duncan and there is a mutual attraction between them. This is just the first chapters of this book. Callaghan’s rhetoric and banter are spot on. Tropes include strangers to lovers, one night stand, family angst, keeping secrets, magical moments and secrets, and previous characters involvement. I rated this story 5 ⭐️ and 3.5 🌶️ spice. I highly recommend this book for a seasonal romance story. The author published a previous seasonal book that I also recommend reading.
