some editing errors but otherwise a terrific book to read.
Maddy and Oliver are separated by another woman as this story begins. Maddie is a high functioning autistic woman who runs a rehabilitation center for canines, she also is head of a search and rescue team (SAR). Oliver is the sheriff of the county they live in and is bound to a woman carrying his child. But, the two of them keep finding trouble first by Maddie finding the local wine connoisseur murdered in a wine barrel. Oliver must interview her about this murder and things don’t go well. As the story continues the SAR team is called out to locate a prominent citizen and his nephew. Unfortunately, they find the missing couple with one dead. Two deaths, and Oliver and Maddie must communicate about these occurrences which causes Maddie great emotional distress. There is confusion and anger during these times between the two. And the story continues, I hope.
This is a well written piece that I highly recommend. The main characters are a lot of fun and interesting to follow. The characters development throughout the books has been great and intriguing. The secondary characters and stories related to them has been fun to follow and engage in and adds some interesting storyline to the main characters lives. The dogs are very much discussed and included in the storyline. I’m hoping that this is not the end of this series and more intrigue and adventures follow. The chemistry between Maddie and Oliver is palpable and worthwhile to read.
This book series has realistic real life storyline’s and brings everyday lives together and to the forefront. I’ve rated this book a 4.5 ⭐️ rating because of grammatical errors I noted and some of the speech can be hard to follow. But, this cozy story deserves a chance to be read and to be heard. I hope this series will continue and that the main characters continue to develop as they grow.
